A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Turkish bath
Very good service since we arrived. I went with my mother, my aunt and sister. Mood is quiet, invites you to relax. Aysun, a woman who made my experience unique, attended to me at all times. I highly recommend it if you visit Istanbul, you can not stop experiencing this Turkish bath. I will repeat, thank you on my next visit.

Excellent first hamam experience.
This was our first hamam experience and it was amazing! Safiye, my therapist, was excellent. My husband’s therapist, Rafik, was also very good. The hamam is beautiful and the staff are very kind. Highly recommend!

The experience was great. I had the basic package of Hammam experience, the staff is very nice, welcoming and caring. They guided me through the process and I had nice relaxing time. They offered towel and slippers, as well as single use underwear. Recommend this hammam.

Experience highly recommended. It was wonderful. Very clean and tidy. My therapist Nils was fantastic. Super professional receptionists. And one of them speaks Spanish. We’ll be back for sure.

The first hammam experience in my life
I booked a private course at Gedikpaşa Hamamı, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my Istanbul trip. Although my therapist didn’t speak English, communication was effortless — everything was handled with care and professionalism. You can truly feel the 500 years of history in every corner of this beautiful bathhouse.The marble hall, the warm steam, and the traditional scrub and massage made me feel completely renewed. It was not just relaxing, but deeply cultural — a window into authentic Turkish heritage.If you’re looking for a genuine hammam experience rather than a modern spa, this is the place. I left feeling refreshed, grateful, and full of admiration for this historic place. Highly recommended!

Relaxing and invigorating experience!
Beautiful, clean pleasant atmosphere. The staff was kind, respectful and welcoming.The process started with an extended time lying on a marble heated stone in a warm room. Then I was taken to a private room where the bath began first with rinsing me head to toe, then the thorough but not uncomfortable scrubbing, finally the foaming wash, a hair wash, brief scal massage and then a complete rinse again. A final rinse was done with me standing. From there I opted for the 30 minute oil massage, which was a full body massage.After the massage I was dressed and offered a cold pomegranate tea first, followed by a hot tea and Turkish delight.

Mood is elegant, soothing and warm — a true timeless wellness break.The spaces are very clean and perfectly maintained, everything is thought out to promote relaxation: subdued light, sweet scents, relaxing music… We feel a real attention to detail.The care I received was simply perfect: precise gestures, great listening and real know-how. Turkish Hamam on my Birthday!
I had a fantastic experience at the Gedik Pasha Hamam! My first ever Turkish hamam experience. And guess what it was my birthday and I had the best gift for myself. The hamam is located conveniently at the historic Sultanahmet district was very close to where i stayed. My hamam attendant was excellent and guided me through all the steps in the 45 minute hamam ritual. The price was also good at 70 euros. The hamam has a historic vibe to it with it being operational for over 500 years. The entrance indeed gives you a feel of stepping into the 15th century Istanbul!

Best massage ever
Never had a Turkish Bath experience which can be intimidating but they were so accommodating and hospitable. Beyond that the location was excellent and extremely clean and tidy. The service itself was incredible including the bath, foot massage, body massage, and facial. 10/10 experience and would recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul.
