A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Traditional Turkey bath out of this world experience
Absolutely an amazing experience from start to finish. Mutlu was very professional and so sweet. We did the bath, plus massage. Left relaxed and our skin feels so soft and clean. Will definitely do again.

A fully recommended must-do!!
Very clean, extremely hospitable and out-of-the-world experience!! All of us have our inhibitions but with the professionals, they seemed to melt away. Bahriye, Uznur, Ergun were extremely considerate. The refreshments after are a great touch. A 10/10 for a wonderful, authentic experience.

Dreamy and relaxing first experience in traditional Turkish Hamam
Amazing experience! Private Hamami for myself and private for my fiancé. My massage with Bahriye was excellent and she was very helpful as it was my first experience. I’ve never felt cleaner! My fiancé had male smiling therapist Husaeyin who was also excellent he tells me & put him totally at ease. Everthing was provided, we bought swimwear but used the spas disposable underwear. We were warmly welcome and looked after by Guvnec, who was very attentive and chatty and we delighted with delicious snacks and tea afterwards.

Fabulous Experience
An amazing experience! Had the traditional Hamam which was superb. The therapist was very considerate and treated me with respect and kindness throughout. Fabulous refreshments provided for afterwards which were perfect for finishing our visit. The building is beautiful and exceptionally clean. Reception staff were very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Istanbul.

Fantastic experience! The staff are friendly, the ambient is nice, the bath are clean and in a beautiful historical building. Really enjoyed our treatment. Reza the head of reception was very sweet and welcoming. I am already looking forward to come here again next time I am in Istanbul

An Authentic Slice of Ottoman History – Absolutely Must-Do in Istanbul!If you’re visiting Istanbul and want a truly authentic Turkish bath experience, Gedikpaşa Hamamı is where you need to go! This place isn’t some modern, touristy version of a hamam – it’s the real deal. Built in the 15th century, the architecture alone is worth the visit… vaulted ceilings, ancient stone walls, and that unmistakable historic atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve time-traveled.The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like royalty. The scrub and foam massage? Unreal! I left with skin softer than it’s ever been and a sense of relaxation I haven’t felt in months. The hot marble slab (göbek taşı) was pure bliss to lie on, and the entire ritual felt cleansing both physically and mentally.Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned hamam-goer, this place hits different. Affordable, authentic, and truly memorable. Easily one of the highlights of my Istanbul trip.Pro tip: Book in advance if you can, and go for the full package – trust me, it’s worth every lira.

This was an AMAZING experience and one you can’t miss! I came with my mother as a way to bring a closing to our first trip (but not last) trip to Türkiye. This hamim was founded in 1475… To put it into perspective, this was here before Spanish was solidified role as the dominant language of Spain in 1492 🤯. There is something very special able experiencing this in such a historical place.We were warmly greeted and taken in as soon as we arrived despite being 45 min early. You get your own little cabin to change and leave your items. They are secured with a key you carry. We laid on the marble table for about 15min followed by our foam bath. It was so cool how they created the foam. We opted for the 30min oil massage which, again, amazing! Thanks Mutlu!Finally we were give tea and Turkish delight prior to our departure. All and all, I recommend this experience without reservation. 🫶🏽🫰🏽👍🏽🤍

Amazing womens section! Ask for sister Bahryie! She was great, great massage, very attentive, super relaxation! Walked me through the whole process , water temperature and agilain mentioning the massage! 10/10 highly recommend

Very smiley and welcoming staff. Beautiful atmosphere traditional and hygienic.My therapist Oznur was amazing, kind and smiley. She welcomed me and my friend professionally. Her scrub and massage was amazing. Highly advise this hammam and therapist Oznur ❤️All staff are professional.
