A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Family friendly and a great Turkish experience!
Wonderful experience for the whole family! My sons (10 and 12 years old) and husband had the traditional hamman treatment together and loved it. Staff were very welcoming and we would definitely recommend a visit to Gedikpasa Hamami!

Very good first time experience
I checked out this Turkish bath because of all the great reviews online, and it totally lived up to the hype. The person who gave me my massage was seriously one of the best I could have asked for. The bath and scrub were fantastic, and I’d absolutely tell everyone to come here.

Wonderful end of our holiday
My family and I had such a wonderful time at the spa. The staff was very accommodating to the younger members in our group. The massage down massages were amazing! Highly recommend for families and individuals!

Comfortable, easy hammam experience in central Istanbul
This was a really convenient hammam experience right in the heart of Istanbul, and it can all be done within an hour! The whole process went well in English, and I had a very comfortable time with my assigned therapist. Perfect relaxation after a long connecting flight.

Do not miss Sultan’s Ego!
What a unique and lovely experience, do not miss! We did the Sultan’s Ego treatment, chef’s kiss. I had Baria as my therapist and she made me feel so cared for 💕 My husband loved his experience as well!

Wonderful service!
When I stop to think what I pay for a basic mani/pedi in the states in a bland atmosphere while surrounded by women loudly talking on their phones and staff speaking to each other in a different language in front of me, the difference couldn’t be more stark! For less than $100 I had the Hamam Treatment which included resting on a warm marble slab to open your pores and relax muscles, a complete water bath, body scrub to remove all dead skin cells, and then tons of soapy bubbles massaged into my skin. Bahriye, who called me “sister” was skilled with a firm pressure, gentle hand when necessary. All this while surrounded by the beauty of a 15th century marble Hamami complete with chandeliers, sculptural arches and beautifully carved marble. Don’t hesitate to book a spot here. My only regret is waiting til my final day.
