A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Comfortable first hamam experience
Our family of 4, including 13 yo daughter and 12 yo son, tried the hamam experience for the first time. We had a wonderful experience. For the females, Ulnur and Mutlu were wonderful, providing us newbies with a comfortable and relaxing experience. Rabat was excellent for the guys.For those wondering if the kids can handle this, here is what to know. The males and females are separated. And, if doing massages, those are done in individual rooms. The staff adjust the level of intensity of the scrub/bath/massage to comfort. Our almost 14 yo daughter loved the experience and found it relaxing. Our 12 yo son had more mixed reviews— a little weirded out by being bathed, etc.

Authentic hammam experience
If I came to Turkey, I wanted to join Hammam, so I booked a visit because it looked clean.The feeling when I had my body washed after sweating slowly in the bedrock bath was the first experience and I was able to spend a very pleasant time.The restaurant is also gorgeous, and if you’re interested in hammam at all, I recommend you come.

A unique, relaxing, very comforting experience, you have to live them, would return to the place, very good vibe.

Turkish Hamam with the best massage and service
Me and my wife were recommended this place by our close friend and we came here expecting an average Turkish hamam but the reality really struck us. It was so much more clean and luxurious than we expected. And the massages were amazing. Both me and my wife were very satisfied with our massages that was provided by Halis and Öznur. They were both very professional and service minded and we came out so happy and relaxed from the place. We also got a private tour of the hamam by the very polite and knowledgeable Mr. Reza.Thank you all for this time and see you again for sure!

First time visit
Wasn’t sure what to expect but I was impressed despite it being a short visit before heading to the airport The place was relaxing and staff welcoming. As a beginner I went for the basic option with Shahin looking after my needs and despite our language barrier explained things well. Tea and Turkish Delight at the end was a nice touch.

Great Experience!
Great experience! I really wanted to try the Turkish bath but was (somewhat irrationally) anxious about it given the different things I had heard. Of all the baths with good reviews I chose this one because they give everyone disposable underwear – which look ridiculous btw but they do the job. The baths do manage to create an air of mystique as you enter down the steps. I was greeted at reception by a gentleman who spoke very good English and shown to a changing cubicle. Although the men and women’s baths are separate, the cubes are a common area where you will see the opposite sex in towels. Each cubicle room has a key with a wrist band which you keep with you at all times. After getting dressed in the disposable underwear and wrapping in a towel I was shown in to the hot room where I was invited to lay on the hot marble for what felt like about 15 min. It was hot, but not sauna hot. I was then invited into a side alcove for the scrub and bubble massage. The scrub was good – rough, but not painful. The bubble massage was also very good – I have no idea how they generate so many bubbles! He got the pressure mostly right though I had to have him lighten up on the souls of my feet, which he did. After a cold rinse it was back to the hot room for a few min, then a cool room with water to drink for 5 min. After changing I was given sherbet, tea and Turkish delight. All in all a great experience that proved I had absolutely nothing to be anxious about!
