A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Great Hamman Experience
Great experience at this Hamman, my husband and I had a Turkish bath followed by a 30 minute oil massage. Great service provided by Turkan and Ergun. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Refreshing experience
This was my first time in a Turkish bath, and it was amazing from the heated marble floor that I fell asleep on in less than five seconds to the Sudzy massage by my bather… the staff was so friendly, especially upon entering, and it didn’t matter that we didn’t speak the language they treated us with such kindness, care, and consideration. Don’t forget to leave a generous tip and enjoy the juice, tea and water in that order. I promise you’ll be feeling so refreshed.

Expensive but clean. Good if youre looking for safe and traditional turkish bath and history.
Bought the basic hamman experience. Its mid Oct and weather’s outdoor at 14degree. Its my first time and i went alone. There was several hits and misses. Probably im also the first person there at 9am, the common area in the guy bath isnt really warm. Lay on marble stone and slept. Was guided to my room when they pour the luke water over me, its was so hot (cos im still feeling cold) i took a few pour to acclimatise. The scrub massage was brief and too gentle, it ended as soon as it started. The foam massage was interesting and the after-service titbit was nice. Overall a good first time experience only because it got nice space and very clean despite being in an old structured house.Service touchpoint have to improve definately. I requested for an english speaking massuer, it didnt happen. He also requested me to tip him just right after the foam massage, and reminded me the tip envelope is in my room (which was huge and you cannot miss it). He went to my changing room as soon as I left (likely to see the tip) right before I was served my snacks. Fact is there wasnt much time for interaction with my massuer. The whole process was really fast, from warming you up to scrubbing to rinsing. Within 30 min and youre done. It felt like food being processed in Mcdonald, you don’t have time to process your thoughts and the dish is ready. (BTW, im an asian, if it matters)

Massage
The positives: The setting is very beautiful and relaxing, the staff is very friendly and caring. The negatives: do not offer simple oil massages, you must ask them on the spot if it is possible. 140th for an hour of excessive massage for my taste. And the big negative is that the massage rooms are in the same room as the changing rooms so we hear everything (the staff talking, the people arriving to change, the doors slamming) which is not very relaxing in the end even if the massage is in itself.The experience would have been more worth it if the massage had taken place in the same part as the steam room and foam massage.

Wonderfully frothy, nice staff, but a bit short.
Was great, foam great! But unfortunately a little too short. We would have liked to just stay in the relaxation room a little longer. Since we had not booked a massage, a body lotion would still have been nice.

Efficient. Courteous. Attentive. Do it.
We booked the basic package not knowing what to expect. It was relaxing. At times painful but in a good way. And refreshing. No idea if it can be better elsewhere but we throughly enjoyed it here.
