A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Unique Hammam experience
This Hammam bath is one of the most beautiful I have ever been to. You just feel comfortable here and can totally relax. A big thank you goes a the employee Busra, who took excellent care of me and made the stay even more pleasant. If you are in Istanbul, you should definitely stop by here – highly recommended!And at the end there are even delicious tea & snacks! 10/10

Strongly recommend
Excellent experience. This was my first time doing this and I’m definitely coming back. The facilities are very clean, the staff is very friendly and professional. I had the Turkish bath (the soap smell is amazing) and the full body massage! I’m coming back and I definitely suggest this one for people to come!

A magical experience
My wife and I were slightly apprehensive going into this, just a little unsure about what to expect, how to navigate things, etc. What we experienced was the height of Turkish hospitality from the time we walked in until we departed. The staff were all very welcoming, warm and kind (Oznur and Afer (Afir?) were amazing.) The treatments were phenomenal; and this 15th century edifice is oozing with history, spotlessly clean and just the type of thing one would dream of in a Turkish bath. (And they have kittens!) Don’t hesitate, you will not regret your decision.

Wonderful relaxing experience
I had a wonderful, relaxing, well-organized, rejuvenating experience! Turkah was my masseuse and was excellent!! It was unlike annd unmatched by any other spa experience I’ve done. We first received Turkish tea and enjoyed relaxing on the comfortable lobby couches watching the kittens play and listening to the soft music and sounds of the fountain inside. We were then taken to the women-only side of the bath house, shown to a private changing room to undress, and put on temporary underwear and a towel wrap which were provided. Next we enjoyed laying on warmed marble looking up to the beautiful domes with sunlight shining through on the ceiling. Next we were taken to the bathing rooms and received full body exfoliation, bubble massage, and shampoo. It was very relaxing – just be sure to keep your eyes closed to avoid unexpected soap or water splashes. We then enjoyed a few minutes relaxing on couches and then moved to private massage room for another 30 min massage with oil. Lastly we were taken back to our private changing rooms which also included a hair dryer and mirror to get ready for the day. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend!

Very relaxing and memorable experience
I was a little nervous but booked myself a hamman ritual while on a trip with friends. Booking was a little complex as I didn’t receive a confirmation email and initially booked a random time by accident as no deposit was needed (this was on my phone so may not be optimized for that). They replied quickly on email or WhatsApp however so I would advise this. The experience itself was lovely. The therapist talks you through everything and you get a private room to change in, some disposable knickers and a hamman towel to cover yourself. You will then be topless (I didn’t ask to wear a top so they may be fine with this but I never felt uncomfortable) while undergoing the wash and massage and they do cover your chest as well (again I did not request they didn’t so this may be an option). I was in a room with one other guest (with a therapist each). The bubbles were like being covered with a cloud and if I had had longer I would have upgraded to the longer treatments, as it was I felt set up for the day, warm, clean and relaxed (they wash your hair too and provide hairdryers and mirrors in your private dressing room where you can leave your belongings locked). It is split into male and female areas and the loos are European style. The building is beautiful and the teas (before and after) are lovely. It was very quiet when I visited, just myself and one other guest so they may be a different experience when busier. They have a tip envelope in the dressing rooms so remember some cash, otherwise you don’t need to bring anything else with you (a hairbrush is recommended).

New and relaxing experience in Turkey
After a full day tour of Turkey this was the perfect way to end the day. During my tour of the palace, there was mention of Hammams so it was a cool experience to gain better understanding.I was able to locate the Location easily on Google maps and walk from Sultanahmet area in 10 minutes.When I arrived, it was serene with a nice fountain at check in and smiling faces to greet me. My day tour ran a little over so I actually arrived about 15 minutes late. but it wasn’t a problem.You are escorted to a room where they have private changing rooms (not shared with others) where you change into private paper undies and a large wrap for your body. You can also bring your own swim suit if you are shy as they only provide paper bottoms.You are then led to a room to relax on a large heated stone for 15 minutes. You will be with other ladies on the women’s side.After 15 minutes, you will receive your scrub and bubble massage on the stone BUT if you book the private, like I did, you will be led into a different little room that has 2 slabs to receive your treatment.After treatment you receive Turkish tea, another refreshing beverage and a date snack? Not sure, but it was tasty.My therapist was Mutlu and she was the sweetest. She did an amazing job scrubbing and bubbling me up.Im glad I tried it and definitely recommend After a day of touring or even when u first arrive into Instanbul after a long flight.

The steam room was relaxing, the scrub and foam massage left my skin softer than ever, and I felt completely renewed afterward. The staff were professional, kind, and made sure I was comfortable at every step.It’s not just a spa treatment — it’s a cultural experience. I walked out feeling refreshed, lighter, and deeply relaxed. I would highly recommend this hammam to anyone visiting Turkey. A wonderful entry experience to Hamam. We were led in to a private changing area (females are separate from males) and given a towel and disposal undergarments. You are also able to lock the room behind you for peace of mind. Then taken to a beautiful open space with warm marble to lay out in as we waiting for your turn. Aysun, was very kind and explained the process. They lightly scrub your face and body. Then give a soapy massage and rinse with warm water. They also offer to shampoo your hair. It was a lovely relaxing experience after a long day of exploring. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
