A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. 1475 Turkish history is alive and well. If you are reticent don’t be, this is class. And the bubble sheets and massage!
Lying on a marble sauna where the dome’s soft light spreads its history into your soul, surpassed only by bubble sheets!
