A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. The finest Turkish bath you could hope for: the ambience is as beautiful as it is calming, staff are attentive and well trained, massages superb and under the gentle management of Reza the operation is run as Swiss clockwork. Nil was an expert massage therapist, funny, too, and did you ever find yourself in a cocoon of foam as part of a treatment? It’s a blissful dream and the only problem is that you will have to wake up and leave this haven of utter delight after a restorative glass of tea and the finest Turkish delight toTop the visit off. Top class massage. Amazing service.
The place is beautiful and the customers service is top class but best of all was the hammam massage itself. The drinks you get at the end just top it all off. Amazing experience and would definitely come back.

Overlall great experience! Very comfortable; it was my first hammam so unable to benchmark but I’m very satisfied with the experience and service. Baths are very clean / and get a wash before each customer; great hygiene and made e feel very comfortable throughout the procese. Historic location and you feel the weight of history here; it does seem more directed to touristsI heard the hammams frequented by locals can be better on the wallet but didn’t have the time to research those.

Great but bring multiple payment options
The bath is great and fantastic service start to finish there was an issue with debit cards but credit worked okay. Would and will come again may look into brining cash along with the tip.

great but small dislikes
lovely staff, very welcoming. the massage and hammam was so good i could fall asleep. however i would notice smell of cigarettes during my massage which wasn’t great. otherwise such a lovely atmosphere

It was strange at first, but it felt really good! Especially the bubble massage! I would do it again if I came back to istanbul. Perfect end of the day after exploring the city on foot all day.
