A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. GEDIKPASA TURKISH BATH A MUST!
I was so nervous to go to a Turkish Bath but with the help of Trip Advisor, I found Istanbul Gedikpasa Historical Turkish Bath. From the arrival at reception to the services provided to the delicious tea and Turkish delight after, it was an exceptional experience. What a memory. I went the first time on my own and it was very private. I had nothing to worry about. The second time my partner and I went and it was still exclusive and private. I never had to worry about anyone “seeing” me and the kindness and care from the therapists so wonderful. I can highly recommend these Baths.

Perfect relax and regeneration in beautiful, traditional place
Everything I’ve found perfect. Very traditional, old and impressive building, helpful staff, relaxing atmosphere. Very clean, beautiful smell everywhere. My therapist – Aysun, was nice and professional, I felt very comfortably “in her hands” and can sincerely recommend her.

When in Turkey… One must experience a Turkish Bath
When in Turkey, you have to do the Turkish bath. This was the first Turkish bath I have ever been to/experienced and it was wonderful. I was greeted by a warm and friendly host who made everything easy and relaxed. Then, I had Aysun as a therapist- she made it very comfortable despite my typical American self being more conservative about my body. It’s like a human carwash in a good way. Haha. Things to know: You will be n@ked. You do have your own locked room. It’s a large room with a bed and hairdryer. They will provide you with a towel and sandals. They will scrub your body with a mit and then you will be laying on warm marble while they top you with bubbles. You are not actually sitting in a bath. They scrub you and run warm water over you. If you opt for the massage (do it) it’s wonderful, especially if you’ve been walking a lot. I actually did this little retreat the night before my surgery and it was the perfect thing to do. 10/10 recommend They also provide light refreshments at the end. ♥️ A great experience. ♥️🇹🇷🛁Also, make sure you tip as you would anywhere else. They work hard on our bodies and I’m sure it’s hard on their bodies, too.

Best 45 min of my life
It was the best the best 45 minutes of my life, the marble plate is perfectly warm, the scrubing was sensational and the massage was the best in my entire life. The stuff is helpful and very kind. Room was steamy witch made me fall asleep. Definately recomend visiting it!!! I want to favour my massagist – the galatasaray fan, he’s the best!!!

Amazing and beautiful
Where do I start!!! On arriving staff were beautiful, showing me thru to the ladies only area. Then greeted by my amazing lady that took me thru the journey of a Turkish bath. Her presents, her caring nature made my bath so much more relaxing. I can’t stress enough to you all to go and enjoy a moment of pure relaxation.
