A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Looking forward to returning!
“Absolutely amazing, and I want to come back!”- review by my 13 year old daughter and I couldn’t have said it better myself. I had to change my reservation time last minute and there was a little confusion, but it was ironed out quickly. It was our first Turkish Bath experience and we were led through the process with gentleness and kindness. My only complaint was that it was over too soon!

Run, don’t walk, get the bath
I’ve never had a Turkish bath and didn’t know what to expect. Let me just say….Ahhhhhh-mazing. Definitely need to experience this for yourself. I am so relaxed now, and completely ready to head to the airport for my 10 hour flight to Phuket!Bahriye, my therapist was so professional, supportive, and she did an amazing massage. Highly recommend!

Felt refreshed and soft
The experience was really nice and both ladies who took care of us today were great. Barthiney and her sister I think,The place is clean and welcoming. traditional place but with privacy.Very accommodating as well.

What a wonderful experience at this hammam! The place itself is absolutely beautiful and has such a calm, luxurious atmosphere. Everything was clean, stylish, and very well taken care of.A special thanks to Anne Bahriye — she truly went above and beyond to make it an amazing experience. She took her time, worked with great care, and made me feel completely at ease. On top of that, she was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, which made the experience even more enjoyable.I left feeling completely relaxed and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended! Absolutely Perfect! Thank you!
My husband and I LOVED our first time experience here with a Turkish bath. This is the first and oldest bath in Istanbul. The facility itself is gorgeous. The greeters at the front desk were wonderful. We were served tea as we waited to be taken into the baths. We went for the extended 90-minute option and are so happy we did. We each chose to use a private room which means the bath and bubble massage were private. and the only group portion was the initial hot marble rest. Our therapists (mine not sure of spelling, but phonetically, Iso) was fabulous! The experience, the facility and the people are the BEST! Tea and snacks when we came out as well. Don’t miss this! It’s well worth the visit.

Converted from massage hater to hamam lover at the first visit
Wow! My first Hamam experience and I loved it! The foam massage was so special and I normally don’t like to be touched by strangers. Safiye had the most amazing touch, not too firm, not too soft, just magic! They give you plenty of time to relax and it’s an experience that makes you feel taken care of by a loving mother. The turkish tea and sweets at the end round up a true turkish experience I will come back for.
