A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam

Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city.     A dream hamam

    A simply extraordinary experience. The Gedikpaşa Hamam is a place that conquers from the first moment: a wonderful, well-kept and authentic environment, where you can breathe the true tradition of the Turkish bath without any “tourist” forcing.The staff is very kind, welcoming and always respectful, present when needed but never intrusive. A rare quality, which really makes a difference.The hammam itself is superb: warm, clean, relaxing, with an atmosphere that completely envelops you. The massage was one of the best I have ever received – and I say this as a physiotherapist. Impeccable technique, expert hands, total professionalism.At the end of the journey, a small ritual that completes the experience: great dessert, perfect tea and a delicious organic drink that closes everything with an extra touch of care.I came out of there regenerated, like new, after an hour and a half that define fantastic is reductive.A place that combines tradition, quality and authenticity. Must try absolutely.

    more than waited

    I got much more than I expected. I was alone, but I think the place is realy great for more persons as well. Best for the person who have never been or never try hammam. The lobby is cozy and the hammam area was cozy and clean. This is an old fashioned traditional hammam with simple but clean equipment. Working there a friendly staff with expert gestures. I experienced attentiveness despite the language difficulties. ÖNUR, who was my bath master is a fantastic woman and her gestures reveal incredible expertise. The tea, sherbet and sweets after the hammam were just icing on the cake. Admission fee is acceptable. Even if my visit was a little short but they have a nice corner to relax after hammam. If I can, I will definitely go back when I am in Istanbul. Thank you very much to the entire team for everything. I wish you all the best

    Visiting the Historic Gedikpaşa Hammam felt like stepping back in time. From the moment you enter, you can feel the authentic atmosphere and history of the place. The hammam is extremely clean, well-maintained, and beautifully preserved.The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, making you feel comfortable and welcome throughout the entire experience. The scrub and foam massage were absolutely amazing — deeply relaxing and refreshing. The products used were high quality, and the environment was calm and peaceful.It was the perfect way to unwind both physically and mentally.     First, real, Turkish bath experience

    Me and my friend went for a Hamman Ritual, 70€ per person for 45 minutes. The atmosphere, the staff and the experience were amazing. In my opinion a little bit overpriced since we also tipped the ladies (not mandatory) but I think everyone should try it once in life.

    An experience to try

    There were two of us and we did the scrub and the foam bath and it was wonderful. An experience to try that I did not find equal in Europe. The price is ok considering the area, I wanted to try another Haman to compare but we didn’t have time. Thank you so much and see you soon!

    An absolute must if you are in Istanbul! From an inconspicuous road you get to a place that exudes an incredible amount of peace and quiet and the real experience of the Hamman is also insanely relaxing.
