A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. The experience was excellent, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The environment is very elegant and traditional. You get a whole room to yourself to lock your stuff in while doing the experience. They also offer tea and Turkish delight at the end.

Fantastic. Dis not know what to expect but the reviews were so positive that I took the chance. Everything was excellent. From the greeting at the front desk to Alladin who did all the hard work it was terrific. First is a private change room, then 15-20 min in hot room, then scrub, then bubble bath with massage. Everything was clean and the service was extremely positive and good. Massage during the bubble bath was especially terrific which as a result of Alladin’s expertise and strength. All good. And not expensive at all for 70 Euros.

Fantastic experience at Gedikpaşa hammam. The place was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Halis was a great therapist, I enjoyed my experience. The 15th century historic hammam is worth visiting, I will return.

A relaxing and accessible Turkish bath experience!
This was my first Turkish bath experience. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. The gentleman assigned to me during the bath experience was gentle and communicative without intruding on my quiet time. He was attentive and ensured to ask me if his pressure or the water temperature were to my liking. If you haven’t had such an experience watching a video would be helpful so you know what to expect although the staff definitely explained it to me very well. Post-bath I was able to relax and enjoy sherbet, tea and Turks delight in a soothing space.

You must go to this bath house when in Istanbul!
Don’t miss this once in a lifetime Turkish bath experience! You will be pampered by your bath attendant in a beautiful and ancient bathhouse, starting with a relaxing rest on warm marble stone, followed by an exfoliating massage and foamy bath. This was the highlight of our visit to Turkey.

Wonderful afternoon at a beautiful historic Turkish bath
I loved the experience at Gedikpasa Hamam. The historical building is amazing. The wooden changing cabines are beautiful. The heated hamam rooms have old tile and stone walls and domed ceilings. Mutlu was kind and gave a lovely massage. I highly recommend Gedikpasa Hamam.
