A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. I’ve felt like a king
It was delightful, I’ve never been to a Turkish bath before but it’s one of my favorite experiences in Istanbul. I have only taken the standard hamam, for 70€, which takes aprox.: 45 minutes.I loved the atmosphere of the place, I’ve felt like a true turkishman. At the time of my wisit, there were no other clients.The staff was really kind. I would recommend it for someone who is tired and stressed.
