A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Haren means forbidden because it was a Sultan’s thing, this I imagine is like a Sultan’s bath.
Wow one is usually used to spas and massages that offer you in them with aromas and relaxing music. It wasn’t so much scents here, but this isn’t a spa, a Turkish bath, they literally give you an exfoliated full body and a full body bath. Then a massage that in my case was intense, and turned out to be spectacular for the days of tiredness that I carry on a trip, a tremendous experience you can not imagine that a person is dedicated to this apparently is how it was used in antiquity, sultan treatment.

Perfect relaxation
The Hamam experience atGedikpasa traditional Turkish Bath was exceptional. After 11 weeks travelling we were tired and the Hamam and after the perfect massage by Bahriye I felt entirely relaxed. It was wonderful to experience the treatment in a 550 years old Turkish Bath.
