A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. beautiful building, friendly staff, poor quality products
The building is a beautiful historical experience, the staff were also kind and did their best to explain what was happening. The bath experience its self I would say they did not scrub very hard or long it felt like 5 minutes, however this might be preferable for first timers. They then wash and massage you which was relaxing however the soap they used was very drying leaving my skin feeling tight and uncomfortable. I hope they can improve the quality especially for the cost.

In general the bath was very nice. Due to language differences the massage therapist could not customize the massage ( firm, medium, light). If you’ve never been, one doesn’t know what to expect and when. So when a bowl of water is poured over your head after a soapy shampoo, don’t have your contacts in! Space was lovely. Historical. Some amenities for women after such as conditioner, lotion or just directions to the toilet area would be helpful. All in all a relaxing experience.

Personal opinion
It was really nice, the massage was perfect, and the workers really kind and helpful. The only thing was that we found the changing rooms a bit dirty. Although I definitely recommend!

Nice overall experience
However the ladies charging room was dirty the bath and the final tea resting experience was very nice. Also the lady whom made the bath had a very strong but enjoyable hands for the massage. The overoall atmosphere is really nice.

A superb experience of bath shots in a setting worthy of Topkapi!
Very nice setting, great experience with fabulous foam and massages in the Turkish bath energetic and relaxing. A great experience that I recommend. Have a tea before you go to enjoy it to the fullest.
