A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Really lovely space with welcoming staff. Facilities were clean and tidy. I enjoyed it. The massage was firm and restorative and the whole experience was relaxing, luxurious and the perfect antidote after hours on my feet exploring the city!
