A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Stepping into 1475: An Unforgettable Ottoman Hammam Experience
Amazing experience in a 550-year-old Ottoman hammam. Beautiful historic setting, professional staff, excellent scrub and massage, and very clean facilities. A small improvement would be to provide a hairbrush after the bath. Highly recommended when visiting Istanbul! 🇹🇷🛁

incredible experience! We had the most amazing time at this Turkish bath. Older adults first Hammam visit…
Authentic Turkish Bath experience in a historical ancient hammam with a very nice staff. My attendant (Omar) was kind, generous with the time & techniques (body scrub, foam bath, massage). Also, he spoke English & was personable. My wife’s experience was less personable and was somewhat rushed…finished 20 minutes before me. Also, there is no music on the women’s side. She also was uncomfortable on the marble slabs. But everyone’s experience can vary based on age and various medical issues. Overall, a noteworthy special event for the body & soul.
