A Brief History of Acemoglu Hammam
Acemoglu Hammam dates to the 15th century, the era of Fatih Sultan Mehmed, and takes its name from the Acemi Oglan — the young recruits trained in the Vezneciler quarter for the Ottoman Janissary corps. What an amazing experience.was well looked after by staff and had an awesome experience. The staff were friendly and had us wanting to come back for more. Pay extra for the massage as made a very relaxing and cultural afternoon. Like no massage I’ve had before.

Visit before you book!The receptionist was knowledgable.The Ladies who gave our treatment were excellent but the facilities are shabby and tired. It doesn’t feel authentic or historic, it just felt poorly maintained. We weren’t offered the steam room or use of pool as advertised. Entrance is via hotel side door. No robes, we had to walk past a man on reception in towels.2 lovely Indonesian ladies gave our treatments, massage was very good but changing room cramped, toilets not clean, towels threadbare. Window coverings hanging off. Hamman was warm and spacious but massage room was awful. Untidy with lots of additional furniture, neon lights everywhere, wall lights hanging off the wall in relaxation area, not a tranquil space at all.Music in room inappropriate and interrupted by adverts which ruined the relaxation. No aromatherapy oils offered. If the massage ladies had not been so good I would have asked for a refund. It was €80 each.Sadly it didn’t feel luxurious and not the treat I had hoped for myself snd my daughter in law.

My wife convince me to go and I’m glad I did. We did the bath with massage, very professional and relaxing. There was a coffee shop nearby and a very nice location and very friendly, would recommend.

Don’t go here!
I would not recommend this bath. We went because they took couples together. They could not get us in and out fast enough. Although our appointment was at 3(and said we must be there at least 15 minutes prior) ,we were left sitting until 330. There is one closet size changing room that 8 people are using. While waiting to change after,you are standing we in a cold hallway for 15 mins. We were rushed immediately onto the bath and the attendant began scrub right away on me. She was very good and I was happy with the bath service. They were short an attendant so my husband had more time to lay on the slab waiting for his turn. When I was finished ,I was again sat outaide to wait while my husband was bathed. He was finished in 10 minutes. Tea,etc. was not offered,just told to hurry out. Not a pleasant experience

Fantastic first Hamam experience!!
We as in me, my husband and teenage daughter, visited this hamam in April 2025. I had read the reviews through Turkishbaths.com but decided to directly contact the hamam rather than book online. The communication was over WhatsApp and was very prompt. I got a confirmation for a semi private service for just the hamam, but when we got there, it was not crowded and they gave us a discounted offer to include the 30 min massage for an additional €10 per person, so we went for it. From start to finish it was an amazing experience! Although we had booked for semi private, they gave my daughter a complete private service and a couple service for us, which we thought was a lovely gesture. The ladies were absolutely lovely, calm, gentle and very professional. The overall experience was fantastic, it was our first Hamam experience and we loved it. The place was clean but some of the toilets could be cleaner and better stocked- one we visited was out of toilet paper other than that we have no complaints or suggestions. One recommendation to clients would be to try and book at times when the hamam is typically not busy which is usually during weekday mornings.
