A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Relaxation between two excursions
A very pleasant experience. Nur took care of me. Locked things in the cabin were safe. The foam massage was very relaxing and she finished by giving me a shampoo.After a rest period, once dressed, we were served loukoums, sherbet and tea.An almost necessary experience to relax after running everywhere.

Hammam and massage experience
We booked this Hammam and massage exoerience for our last day in Istanbul. The Hammam is a beautiful historic building and the whole Hammam ritual was delightful. We came out squeaky clean, muscles recharged and very relaxed. Very welcoming staff and therapists and good and helpful communication before our visit Highly recommend.

MUST-SEE TURKISH BATHROOM IN ISTANBUL
The Hammam offers an exceptional experience from the get-go. The atmosphere is caring, quiet and perfectly designed to invite relaxation. The lobby stands out for an elegant and beautifully selected decoration, with its red carpet that anticipates the quality of the rest of the space.The whole place is kept impeccably clean, with a constant sense of hygiene and a pleasant aroma that accompanies the whole visit. Therapists are highly professional and manage to convey deep calm, bringing the experience to a level of total relaxation.I have visited other Hammams in Istanbul and, honestly, this one has far surpassed them. A round experience, to repeat without hesitation.

I recently experienced the Turkish hamam here, and it was absolutely wonderful! The ambiance was serene, beautifully blending tradition with comfort. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional, making sure I felt cared for from start to finish. The bath itself was so relaxing—just fantastic! It’s also in a perfect spot, walkable from major landmarks like the Blue Mosque. I left feeling completely rejuvenated, and the hospitality truly stood out. Highly recommended!

One of the Most Authentic and Memorable Experiences I Had in Istanbul
I had an amazing experience at Gedikpaşa Hamamı and honestly it became one of the highlights of my time in Istanbul.I specifically wanted a more historical and authentic hammam rather than a modern luxury spa, and this place delivered exactly that atmosphere. The building itself feels genuinely historic and traditional, with beautiful marble interiors and an old Ottoman vibe that makes the whole experience feel special from the moment you walk in.I chose the €70 Hammam Ritual package, which included the hot marble rest, kese scrub, and foam massage. The experience was intense in the best possible way. After relaxing on the heated marble, the scrub removed what felt like months of dead skin, and the foam massage afterward was incredibly relaxing. It felt like a proper traditional Turkish hammam experience rather than a tourist gimmick.The staff were professional and efficient, and everything was well organized. Towels, slippers, and amenities were provided, and afterward they served Turkish tea, Turkish delight, and snacks which was a really nice touch.What I appreciated most was that it still felt authentic and historic without being overly commercial or luxury-focused. It felt like experiencing a real part of Istanbul’s culture and history.If you’re looking for:- a historical hammam,- authentic Ottoman atmosphere,- traditional scrub and foam massage,- and a memorable Istanbul experience,I would absolutely recommend Gedikpaşa Hamamı.One tip: definitely choose the full ritual package with the therapist. Sensory delight!
My first Turkish hammam bath and what a wonderful experience! It was a sensory delight! She put a thick layer of suds over my entire body and massage with silky smoothness, this was after the scrub. Afterwards, I got the hot oil and facial, all well worth it. It’s a beautiful old dome shaped interior with skylights of thick glass above elaborate antique chandeliers. I highly recommend my masseuse. Her name began with a B. Sorry I can’t remember her full name! Here is her picture. She’s the one pointing.

Beautiful place! Clean, cozy, beautiful! Wonderful girls and nice companionship! Russian-speaking girl Chiman told the story of this hamam and gave a great massage! Recommend this place!

Won’t be back
The therapist was amazing however he experience as a whole wasn’t great. The hot stone was Cold and I was left there for 25 minutes rather than 15 minutes which is clearly eating into the massage and wash time. Smelt abit like damp too. Massage was good and bath was good, they also wash your hair however have no brush to brush after only have hair dryer so take a brush with you after. Overall i probably go somewhere else definitely won’t be back. All they gave as an apology is soap and then when I complained again they brought the manager cenk over he was very very rude he asked me what the issue was when I told him he said ok yes and stared in my face. In the said my partner was happy he smiled and I then had to say well my I need some money back as I don’t get the experience I paid for he then sent his colleague back with 2400 tl which was fine as I paid 3400 tl. When we were leaving he said thanks to my partner when I said thanks he looked away. I won’t be back just for that!

Worth a experience
No pre-ordered direct walk-in. The price is not cheap but also not expensive. The first experience of not knowing what to do or even not knowing what to pay. Just kindly listen to the instructions. I chose the cheapest option: specifically to lie down and wait for the technician to arrive and then follow the instructions to go to the second place to lie down. The technician washes for you first, turns down and then washes. After that, suck the bubble to relax the muscles, then turn and lie down and continue. Finally water. Completed. Drink supplemental water and cool your body. I saw a small envelope when changing but didn’t know how to dispose so I brought it out. Only later knew should leave it in the dressing room.
