A Brief History of Gedikpasa Hammam
Gedikpasa Hammam was built in 1475 by the grand vizier Gedik Ahmed Pasha, to the design of the architect Mimar Hayrettin — only about two decades after the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul, which makes it one of the oldest hammams still in use in the city. Lovely experience in beautiful surroundings
We had the standard package for €60 – welcome drink and snacks, private changing room with mirror and hairdryer, towel and sliders provided . Treatment was 10 minutes resting on hot marble followed by about 25 minutes of body scrub and foam massage then drinks and snacks afterwards. Lovely welcome and nice staff. Beautiful surroundings, would recommend. Special mention for Reza who was a lovely host who explained the history of the building and just made use feel very welcomed and relaxed

Fully relaxing and sensual experience
What a beautiful experience! I didn’t know what to expect as it was my first hamam but I was so well cared for by Kalsan, finishing off with a thoroughly relaxing massage. All the senses were enriched and I felt like I travelled back in time – stunning historic interiors laid with endless marble, rich aromas swirling as you bathe and dress, and a refreshing juice to top it all off at the end. The reception staff were truly hospitable as well, so Gedikpasa comes highly recommended!

Oldies but Goldies
One of the oldest (1475) but also best preserved traditional Turkish bath in Istanbul. Especially after the last rennovation (december 2024) became my favorite for sure!
