From the moment you arrive, you will be captivated by the authentic style of classic Turkish hospitality and Ottoman architecture surrounding you at every turn — chic marble detailing and classical Turkish motifs create a cool ambiance. Divided into two separate sections for men and women, the hammam ensures privacy and a personal experience for each guest.
The journey begins with the warm room, where the gentle heat and steam prepares your body for the traditional bathing ritual under the grand dome. The starry lights will let you feel like you are having a bath under the stars. Leading on to the hot room, with a heated marble platform and your body relaxing in a steam-filled atmosphere that opens your muscles and pores.
Professional therapists offer authentic Ottoman experiences, providing a special scrubbing head to toe with exfoliating scrubs (Kese) and massages. After a certain time at the hot room, it is time to eventually get to the cold room in order to chill out with traditional Turkish tea or sherbet.
A Brief History of Cagaloglu Hammam
Cagaloglu Hammam was completed in 1741 on the order of Sultan Mahmud I, who dedicated its earnings to the library he founded inside the Hagia Sophia. It is counted among the last major hamams built in Istanbul during the Ottoman period, and its decoration reflects the 18th-century Ottoman Baroque style. When it comes to Turkish Baths, the first thing that comes to mind is the Historical Cağaloğlu Bath. It really is the same for me now. It has a very different aura, a very different ambiance. It is definitely a Turkish Bath that I would want to come back to again and again.

Cağaloğlu Hammam is the perfect bath to relax and feel the historical texture. The atmosphere was calming and a very clean environment. Steam room, scrub, foam, massage was a great experience. I left feeling completely renewed. I was very pleased.

Definitely feel like Sultan with this treatment
Not knowing what to expect but having this recommended by a friend who had recently visited Istanbul, I was blown away by this experience.Pure indulgence, pampering and luxury as you are attended by your very own therapist.We chose the luxury of package, which included sauna, body scrub down, clay masque, bubble massage, and a wonderful shampoo, co dtion and head massage, followed by refreshments and then fi ished with an around.athetaohy massage.One word of caution, if you are modest, this is NOT for you as there were six women all down to paper g-strings laid out on concrete hexagon being worked on at the same time.

Absolutely worth it!
This beautiful hammam has everything to offer. I’ve never felt so refreshed.I initially thought the first room you sit in would be a steam room, but it was more like a humid sauna. The service was impeccable and the therapists treat their guests with such kindness.I highly recommend the full body clay mask after the scrub.If you’re not used to being in a hamman/turkish bath, keep in mind that there will be some nudity and this is normal. The space is big enough for you to still feel like it’s a private area.Ebru was such a great therapist. If I’m ever in Istanbul again, I definitely will go back!

Heavenly
I went with my mother to experience the hamam. The staff were warm and friendly. The facility was beautiful and treatment felt amazing. Our only problem was that our booking was at 12:00 and the hamam insisted it was 13:00 ( I had a ticket that said 12:00). Nevertheless they started our bath 30 minutes after we arrived and served us tea as we waited.

I have NEVER felt so relaxed and pampered. The building is gorgeous. You enter to soothing music and friendly staff. When you are called to your time the staff are professional and soothing. My every need was met from water to snacks and lotion.

Immerse yourself into the time of the sultans…
The Hamam experience is definitely not what I expected but pleasantly surprised and would do it again. First, this Hamam is probably one of the oldest in Istanbul dating back over 300 years (longer than the United States has been in existence). Its opulent charms and architecture seem to take you back to the time of ottomans. The service was more than 5 star as they guide you through multiple stages of your personal treatment explaining each step and providing utmost attention to the details. You have not one, but two therapists working on you! I’m not going to ruin the surprise for those travelers that have never had a Hamam by telling you about the treatment, but I felt completely relaxed and refreshed and like a new man. The treatment is segregated by gender so if you are a couple, you will not be in the same room together. As it was my 25th wedding anniversary I was thinking “couples massage” but it was still a wonderful experience nonetheless.
