A Brief History of Acemoglu Hammam
Acemoglu Hammam dates to the 15th century, the era of Fatih Sultan Mehmed, and takes its name from the Acemi Oglan — the young recruits trained in the Vezneciler quarter for the Ottoman Janissary corps. An amazing getaway! During my time at the Turkish bath, I particularly enjoyed the scrub and foam service. The scrub and foam massage, performed with skill and attention by the massage therapists, truly relaxed me and made me feel rejuvenated. The atmosphere of the bath was also incredible. I was very pleased and definitely considering visiting again!

Don’t bother having the massage
Very disappointed,the room was not how they had shown on poctures when advertising the hotel,there was no professionalism,masseuse had bad body odour no uniform,it seemed like they sent cleaning lady to do our massage,the room was dirty ,the masseuse was not organised,couldn’t understand what we were saying, had no clue how to do a massage, basically paid just to have oil slathered on our body by a smelly woman who couldn’t understand us and we couldn’t understand her.

Terrible experience
My sister and I booked a one hour massage each. Two ladies gave us a massage which was essentially an oil rub. The hygiene was awful, they were sweaty and smelly. The lights were on. No ambience or relaxing.

Best hamam place in Istanbul. I felt like I am reborn. Burak was very friendly and he even upgraded my service. Provided me best service ever. Highly recommended. Citi was the lady who gave me hamam service and she was very very professional and the best.
