The Gedikpasa Turkish bath, Istanbul’s oldest and one of the largest, invites you to experience a 550-year-old tradition in the heart of the ancient city. Built in 1457 by order of Gedik Ahmet Pasha, this extraordinary Turkish bath occupies an impressive 2350 square meters and boasts an impressive 16-meter high ceiling that evokes centuries of history.
Located just steps from the iconic Grand Bazaar, the Gedikpasa Turkish bath offers more than a purification ritual. It is a cultural journey steeped in Turkish and Ottoman traditions. With separate sections for men and women, the hammam guarantees a personalized experience, with same-sex therapists and optional privacy services. Guests can enhance their visit with a variety of massages, making it a standout Turkish bath near the Grand Bazaar.
As you enter this Ottoman hammam in Istanbul, you are enveloped by the warmth of marble floors and the tranquil sound of flowing water. Your journey begins with a relaxing steam bath, designed to prepare your skin for a rejuvenating exfoliation. Using a traditional kese (exfoliating glove), expert attendants remove dead skin, leaving you refreshed and radiant. The experience continues with a luxurious foam massage that relaxes your muscles and transports you to a state of complete serenity.
What makes the Gedikpasa hammam unique is its perfect combination of history, tradition and wellness. This Turkish bath in the ancient city is not only about cleansing, but an immersive experience that revitalizes both body and soul. Whether you are looking for relaxation or a deep connection to Istanbul’s cultural heritage, the Gedikpasa Ottoman bath promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of Turkish bathing traditions.
